What's in Your Closet?

I'm busily going through boxes, cupboards, and drawers trying to de-junk before our move. I've been a bit shocked at what I've found, and what I thought I couldn't live without before leaving the States. In my bathroom cupboard I found no fewer than:

16 tubes of Aquafresh Sensitive Toothpaste,
3 dozen new toothbrushes,
6 large bottles of lotion,
4 unopened bottles of teething medicine,
4 packages of hair elastics,
and a set of curlers I haven't used in seven years.

What's wrong with me? Did I think I'd spend all day brushing my teeth and medicating my children (only one of whom is still expecting any new teeth)? Likewise, I hate curlers, but somehow saw fit to ID them as a must have in France. I'm just such a dork. I've also got 9 new packages of nylons, and over 20 unused chapsticks. You know, just the normal can't live without them kind of stuff. I also haven't touched the 2 packages of chocolate chips, and the various board games we thought would be entertaining. Geesh. Don't ever trust me again.
But then again, I've already purchased

8 boule sets (a game) to give as gifts when we return,
9 boxes of Banania,
4 packages of this really amazing sauce for steak,
and oodles of children's books in french that I can't even read but think are cool.

Never let me pack for you.

The good news is that I've filled about five giant garbage backs with unloved toys, stained baby clothes, expired soup I bought 3 states ago, a skirt I love but KNOW I will never be thin enough to fit again, and other sundry items that I'm happy to say goodbye too. It feels good to thin out our belongings a bit.

So, what do you hoard? What's the weirdest thing in your closet or the most bizarre thing you've ever happily sent on it's way?

I have a shoe box that I covered in pictures from the X-Files and is filled with all sorts of X-File-y things (magazines, TV guides, random cliped articles, my autograph from the cigarette smoking man...)

Karen,

I used to live in a neighborhood that had a Scully Drive and a Moulder Ave. right next to each other. It was a new development so it was done on purpose. Care to find out if there are any homes for sale on either of these streets?
